Osprey Informatics delivers intelligent visual monitoring for oil and gas operations.

Osprey is dedicated to solving critical challenges for the oil and gas industry, including operational efficiency, security and worker safety. The company’s cloud-based platform, Osprey Reach, detects important operational and security events and provides instant access to critical imagery and information. By turning video and imagery into actionable intelligence, Osprey goes beyond ordinary video monitoring systems to deliver critical operational information to the right people at the right time, over any device.

Leadership Team

Osprey’s management is an experienced interdisciplinary team with expertise in visual surveillance technologies, video analytics and cloud-based software, along with oil and gas operations. The team has a proven track record in growing successful, customer-focused technology companies.

Michael von Hauff, Chief Executive Officer

Michael von HauffAs CEO, Michael is responsible for the company’s overall strategy and execution and oversees product development and research. Michael has extensive experience in designing technologies for the oil and gas industry, having developed software programs to audit field equipment and as a consultant for the implementation of cloud technologies. Prior to co-founding Osprey, Michael led the development of the first low powered camera for industrial wireless protocols and an embedded video analytics application for remote surveillance camera systems. Michael has a BSc. in Computer Engineering from the University of Calgary.


Lukasz Skalka, Chief Technology Officer

Lukasz SkalkaLukasz is responsible for the ongoing product development and integration new products into the Osprey visual intelligence platform. He has extensive experience in developing telecommunications, electronics and cloud technologies in both Silicon Valley and Calgary. As a consultant, he worked with energy companies to bridge traditional electronics engineering with emerging cloud technologies. Lukasz also has significant expertise in application development, including hardware-user interface development, machine-to-machine applications, video transmission, and OPC integration. He has a deep understanding of all aspects of product development, from strategic planning to UI design. Lukasz has a BSc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary.


Ryan McDonald, Vice President, Corporate Development

RyanRyan leads Osprey’s corporate development and key strategic initiatives. As a product management and marketing strategist, Ryan has more than 15 years of experience in identifying, developing, and successfully marketing new technology products for the energy industry and others. Products Ryan has helped develop have generated over a billion in sales and been used by millions of people. Companies Ryan has worked with include GE, TransCanada, Husky, Guest-Tek, Evoco and over 40 others. He possesses a rare blend of technical and business understanding to go along with oil and gas industry expertise, having managed the global IT infrastructure for a TSX 100 energy company. A two-time Deloitte Fast 50/500 winner, Ryan has an Honours Electrical/Computer Engineering degree from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.


Sean Rouillard, Vice President, Sales

SeanSean joined Osprey Informatics in May 2014 and serves as the Vice President of Sales. Prior to Osprey, Sean held the position of the Regional Accounts Director – Sales for Alcatel-Lucent, a global leader in mission-critical telecommunication network solutions for Energy, Transportation and other sectors. Over the past 20 years, Sean has held senior sales and marketing positions in major international enterprises including TELUS Communications, Oracle and Zedi. His ongoing focus on supporting the customer’s corporate objectives has earned him the trust of his clients and success in the marketplace.


Board of Directors

Michel Fattouche

Dr. Fattouche is an industry authority in digital wireless communication technology. He has co-founded multiple companies sector, including Cell-Loc and WiLAN where he currently retains his role as a board member. Dr. Fattouche holds multiple patents across North America and is a tenured professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Calgary where he has been teaching since 1986. Dr. Fattouche holds an MSc and PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Toronto.

Bruce Williams

Williams is the President of New Ventures International Consulting, an investment company that has participated in numerous equity investments in growth companies. Williams has over 35 years of experience working with banks, corporations and governments in Canada and internationally. He holds an Honours Bachelor Degree in Commerce and an MBA.

Michael McDonald

McDonald is the CEO of Insight Home Solutions, a growing company recognized as North America’s largest systems integration and control for residential and commercial spaces. McDonald has over 30 years in the oil and gas industry to draw upon. As The former CFO of Talisman Energy, McDonald was critical to developing the growth and acquisition strategy that helped Talisman become a $25 billion international energy company. McDonald has an Honours Bachelor Degree and Masters in Economics from the University of Calgary.
